SPOTTED SOMETHING NEW

FOR US?

Success! Message received.

In my creative journey as a retired educator, I have discovered a profound passion for the vibrant interplay of color and design, which guides my artistic expression. My early work in graphic design, particularly creating quilt designs for notecards for the American Folk Art Museum, created a lifelong fascination with how visual elements can evoke emotion and convey stories. This foundation in design and color has seamlessly transitioned into my primary art form: postal art.

Postal art, for me, is an intimate dialogue between textures, colors, images and forms that speak to a broader narrative, encapsulated in the confines of a mail art format. My creative process is a tactile exploration where paper, paint, ink, and various textures and images converge to create pieces that are both visually arresting and deeply personal.

The layering of materials and images mirrors the complexity of human experiences, allowing each artwork to unfold as a multifaceted conversation. My work is expanding to larger pieces but continues to be revealed through many different layers and permutations of design.

Color and design are not just tools but the essence what I see. I explore the intersections of memory, emotion, and perception. My work invites viewers to pause and engage with hues and intricate patterns, finding meaning in the subtle and overt dialogues between elements.
